Proper system security is as critical as any single feature or component in ClaimZone. Imagine if just anyone could access a claim. A person, maliciously or not, could change or delete important information about the claim. System security accomplishes several basic tasks:
- Restricts certain users from accessing claims.
- Restricts certain users from accessing screens/modules.
- Protects items from being inadvertently deleted.
- Protects confidential information.
The ClaimZone security system is based on Four primary elements:
- User Name
- Password
- Security Group
- Screen, or Field being accessed
The first two items restrict the ClaimZone application so that only valid, authorized users may open the software. The third item, Security Groups, define what members of the group may or may not do. For example, members of the Supervisor group may have security rights to delete Contacts, whereas members of the Adjusters group would not. The fourth item, Screens or Feilds, define the rights necessary to perform actions. For example, the field which shows the Salary of an employee might be restricted from being seen unless you have a high level of security.
